Northern Arizona Attractions

Northern Arizona's a year-round destination at where you can find fall color, mild winters with the occasional dusting of snow, snow, and spring wildflowers, and bright summer months. Here are only a few of its must see. Grand Canyon vacation rental

GRAND CANYON

One of the seven wonders of the natural world, the Grand Canyon, a chasm carved by the Colorado River and also a geological sight to behold. Most of it's shielded over Grand Canyon National Park, which celebrates its centennial in 2019 with a series of special events and programming.

The park consists of two different parts the remotes, quieter North Rim, and the more-visited South Rim. northern Arizona vacation rental

The North Rim, available between May and October, provides accommodation, dining, camping and trekking opportunities. Even the South Rim has a lot of the above choices, in addition to galleries, shops, a museum, and also a massive visitor center.

You may also rent bicycles, ride the famed mules, and have a motor coach tour of this South Rim's highlights, visit historical park arrangements, partake in ranger programs and combine educational expeditions, to mention a few activities.

Just beyond the park's South Rim entrance, the little community of Tusayan delivers visitor-friendly jobs such as hotels, restaurants, gas stations and much more. Stop by the Grand Canyon Chamber Visitor Center at Tusayan to book lodging, pick up brochures and maps, get advice about the free shuttle into the park, reserve tours and find out about other attractions.  Northern Arizona attractions

WILLIAMS, ARIZONA

Nearby, the city of Williams is popularly referred to as the"Gateway to the Grand Canyon," but it is more than only a pass-through location --there are lots of things to research. The city is the southern terminus of the scenic Grand Canyon Railway, which works vintage locomotives and conservative passenger coaches who chug as much as a historic train station in the South Rim.

PAGE, ARIZONA

The Grand Canyon and surrounding communities aren't the sole sexy attractions of Northern Arizona. The town of Page functions as a jumping-off stage to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and the sky-blue waters of Lake Powell, which straddle the Arizona Utah border.

Hiking, boating (including houseboat rentals), fishing and other water sports may fill your daylight hours. Have a tour of Glen Canyon Dam, which made the lake across the Colorado River.

Make sure you book a tour to visit Antelope Canyon, a sculptural slot canyon among Arizona's most-photographed places. The other hashtag magnet is Horseshoe Bend, a great loop of the Colorado River. Northern Arizona boating

It's possible to see and photograph it in a pond over or view it up-close-and-personal by linking a smooth-water rafting excursion that floats out of the dam into the back and bend.

For that matter, guided tours are an excellent way to find all of Northern Arizona.

GRAND CANYON- williamsandgrandcanyonrental.com

When you stand on canyon’s edge and look out, it feels unreal, almost like you’re looking into a painting. Then you look down, and realize that you are very high up, and the canyon is, in fact, very real.
Formed over millennia by the Colorado River, the canyon is ancient. You can learn more about this history by taking the walk through time hiking trail along the South Rim.
The South Rim of the canyon is open all year, show or shine, and is a little over an hour drive from the home, or two hours on the Grand Canyon Railroad. There are multiple hiking trails around the canyon for all different skill levels. Visit the Grand Canyon Visitor Center to learn more about hiking the canyon.
JUNIOR RANGER PROGRAM
If you have little ones, consider completing the Junior Ranger Program. To become a Junior Ranger, pick up a Junior Ranger Activity Book at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. Then, with your child, complete the activities listed in the book for your child’s age group. Activities include going to ranger talks, hiking along the rim, and visiting the park visitor’s center. Once your Junior Ranger has completed his or her booklet, bring it to the Visitor Center to receive an official Grand Canyon Junior Ranger Badge. While fun for the kiddos to go on an adventure, adults will enjoy learning about the canyon too while completing the Junior Ranger Program!

FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA-williamsandgrandcanyonrental

Nestled beneath the towering San Francisco Peaks, Flagstaff has grown to be the top snow location in the state. As a ski town, there is plenty of great shopping and eating!

RESTAURANTS & SHOPPING
If you’re looking for fine dining, check out Brix Restaurant & Wine Bar or The Cottage. For a kid friendlier fare, check out the famous Diablo Burger, grab some grub at the Bigfoot Bar-B-Q, or visit Mike & Ronda’s The Place for fabulous breakfast.  northern Arizona vacation rental

Don’t miss out on all the fun shops around downtown Flagstaff too! The downtown area spans around four blocks and is very walkable. In our opinion, some of the best fudge in the world is made in Downtown Flagstaff (maybe we’re biased.) Go to Sweet Shoppe Candy Store in on Aspen Street to sample some.  Northern Arizona rivers

LOWELL OBSERVATORY
Want to see the place where scientists discovered Pluto in 1905? Visit the Lowell Observatory! During the day, you can check out the rotunda museum and look through their specially equipped solar telescope to look directly at the sun without hurting your eyes. We suggest that you visit at night though to really get the full experience, and see the planets like you’ve never seen them before through the high-powered Omniglobe Telescope.

ADVENTURE COURSE
Channel your inner Tarzan at Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course. Suspended above the Coconino National Forest, the adventure course consists of a zigzag of zip lines and rope courses rising higher and higher into the trees. The day starts with a safety course and training session and has options for both adult and child adventurers. This is only open in the summer months.   Grand Canyon vacation rental

LOCAL HISTORY
Finally, if you’re a history buff, Flagstaff does not disappoint. For the military history buffs, visit the Fort Tuthill Military Museum to learn more about Arizona military history. To learn more about Northern Arizona history, visit the Museum of Northern Arizona or the Pioneer Museum.
